The Seance

… Currently in Post Production.

When a fraudulent medium takes on clients with secrets darker than her own, the line between performance and possession collapses, leaving her trapped in a nightmare she can’t control.

the world of seance

The Seance was born less from a single grand concept, more from a spark - an image we couldn’t get out of our heads. From there, the film grew organically, each idea branching into three more, until we found ourselves with a story that felt both haunting and strangely inevitable. At its heart, this is a tale of deception collapsing in on itself, told through the eyes of Claire, a medium who stumbles into her own undoing.

As filmmakers, we grounded ourselves in character first. Who is Claire? Why does she stay in this line of work? How far down the rabbit hole can she go before the world she created turns against her? Once we knew her, the story began to bloom around her - shadows, secrets, and the blurred edges of the supernatural.

Visually, The Seance draws on the gothic atmosphere of films like The Craft, The VVitch, and even the softer mysticism of Practical Magic. We wanted to embrace the beauty of darkness: smoke curling through candlelight, faces half-hidden in shadow, a world that feels both fragile and deceptive.

In many ways, this film is a love letter to the spooky films we grew up with—the haunting, the witchcraft, the thrill of asking “what if?” But it’s also something simpler and maybe more honest. We wanted to make something cool, something eerie, something beautiful, something that reminded us why we tell dark stories in the first place… so we did.
